Programs, Cool Stuff, and Conferences
As I mentioned last month, even though summer is winding down CSINext is winding up. Last week CSINext held its first virtual Chapter Meeting of the year. We had great attendance and Chris Bennett of Bennett Build presented “Building Bad Slabs: How to increase costs and reduce quality in polished concrete slabs.” Chris is a well-known expert in the world of concrete construction and surface applications and his presentations never disappoint. Thank You Chris and well done!!
On the program front, your Chapter Board has been hard at work on finalizing the 2022 programs schedule. On October 20th we will learn about designing effective rain screens from Allied Technologies. In November chapter sponsor National Gypsum will be the program host and in December we will be hearing from another chapter sponsor The American Woodworking Institute. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Zoom meeting invites both on CSINext’s website as well as CSI’s Calendar of Events! And remember, with the new “One CSI” affiliation structure anyone can attend our events…so spread the word to all your friends and colleagues. They are always welcome to join us.
Our two Directors Staci Seyer and Luana Buratynski are knee deep on a couple of projects themselves. Luana is currently resurrecting the CSINext Linked in group to expand our virtual reach, and Staci is developing a chapter program for the first part of 2023. I don’t want to spill the beans on what Staci is working on – but it’s going to be cool – a first ever for CSINext. No pressure Staci!!!!! ?
Interested in starting a topic of discussion or getting to know your other Chapter members? Check out the discussion board on CSINext, the current list of blogs, or ask to start a blog of your own…someone is always talking about something! And we are always looking for volunteers to help out so if you are interested in becoming involved a little deeper the goings on of CSINext please reach out to a Board member and we will be happy to chat with you.
In just a few weeks CSI will be having its National Conference in Denver Colorado. I always enjoy meeting new CSI members, as well as CSINext members at these get togethers, not to mention all the learning content that is available. Not all of us can make it this year but Kathryn and I will be there as well as several CSINext members. So, if you are planning to attend let us know – we will be sure to say HI! It is always a great week of education and fun.
In closing this month, I would like to recognize all our Chapter Sponsors for this year – without their long-standing involvement and support this Chapter would not be possible. American Woodworking Institute, Northern Facades, National Gypsum, KM Architectural Consultants, and ATAS a HUGE THANK YOU goes to all of you! Check their company links on the CSINext website.
And to all the CSINext membership…THANK YOU for making CSINext your Home Chapter!!!!
Till next time, Mark
