COIVD-19. Changes Coming.
The reports of how construction is moving today during the Covid-19 pandemic are varied.
Many segments are full speed ahead, others are shut down from state and local government.
Hospital work and the manufacturers that support it have kicked it up a notch or two or three.
What our business will look like after this event is uncertain.
The economic downturn in 2008 created a huge loss of employees across all segments of the built environment. It caused disruptions in the traditional architectural billing model. It significantly altered the project delivery timeline for specifications, plan documents.
The pandemic downturn of 2020 has and will affect our business in ways we have never seen.
The views of what our “bounce back” will look like are varied. It’s early in the process. The timeline for “back to normal” activities is unknown. Most of the contractors I know had full schedules for this and the coming year. The biggest issue most had was manning their projects.
For the time being it’s important to communicate. The more we share the more we learn. The painful parts of what’s happening are right in front of us. Opportunities will develop and grow from this event that will change lives forever. Keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Catch the best ride on the way out of this situation.
Today I wish you good health and well being as you learn to adapt to the new normal.
