It's September! Back to school for all those kidos... For me September is Fall and it means 4 more weeks 'til winter... ugh. One thing that September has brought to our chapter... newly weds, congratulations Mr. Brent Williams! We wish you and your lovely bride all the best! Also I would like to send out a big thank you to Debra Powers of The Hager Companies for her great door hardware presentation last month.
This month I am very excited about our meeting program "We Can't Afford to Gamble with Life Safety". Presenter Terry Hughes and I used to work together at Hnedak Bobo Group and I have seen him do this presentation before. Seeing this case study of The Station night club fire had a profound affect on me. As design professionals we know we have a duty to protect the users of our buildings but one's perspective of that duty can most certainly change when we actually learn how lives have be lost when others have been negligent. Terry has worked many years in code enforcement and as a code consultant and we are very happy to have him for this presentation.
One thing I would like to add is that this month's meeting will be truly international. The Krakow Chapter of the Polish architectural organization, Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich (SARP), will be joining our webinar as a group from their offices in the heart of Krakow. This will be their first exposure to CSI and I hope it certainly will not be their last!
